The people of Tunisia are giving us an answer to that question. This talk by John Rees - given at a Counterfire day school last June - suddenly seems remarkably pertinent. Crucially, the talk concerns the distinctions between the versions of the 'democratic revolution' we've seen since 1989 and a socialist revolution (though it has a broader historical sweep than that suggests). I also recommend reading Feyzi Ismail's 'Nepal and Thailand: revolution postponed?'
