I'm currently listening to Arcade Fire's new album, 'The Suburbs'. Today is the 70th anniversary of the death of Trotsky, who in 1905 was chair of the Petrograd soviet (workers' council).
That's two very good excuses for posting this popular YouTube classic, which combines an Arcade Fire track with highlights from Sergei Eisenstein's film 'Battleship Potemkin', a montage of memorable moments depicting the mutinous multitude of 1905 (sorry, no excuse for excessive alliteration).
One other thing: as tributes to Trotsky go, nothing quite compares to THIS.
