Photos - Stop the War demo, 24 October 2009
Thanks to Tom Grace for these photos of marchers at Saturday's demonstration calling for an end to the occupation of Afghanistan. They capture the dynamism, vibrancy and unity of our movement, once again taking to the streets of central London to hold our political leaders to account. The demonstration, culminating in a rally in Trafalgar Square, was organised by Stop the War, CND and the British Muslim Initiative.
A great collection of pictures from the demo, by photojournalist Guy Smallman (who visited, and reported from, Afghanistan earlier in the year), can be seen HERE.
There's a good film of interviews with marchers, produced by Fourman Films, HERE.
Also see photos of the demo HERE.

911 was used as an excuse to go to war and to take our civil liberties away. Yet these wars were planned well before 911 by the 'Project for A New American Century' a neo-con think tank. It stated that the American public wouldnt support wars unless there was a similar event to pearl harbour. How convenient that 911 happened! Even the 911 commissioners Kean and Hamilton now admit that the truth was not told about the events of 911 and that at some level of govt it was decided not to tell the truth. They knew it was going to happen. They let it happen. Maybe they even helped it along the way since the ringleader was a CIA asset. People you need to take more direct action like they did in the 60's and stop blogging on computers.
