How to change the world: Karl Marx and the revolutionary tradition
Discussion of the politics of the great thinker and revolutionary - and its relevance today.
Tuesday 5 April - 7pm, Salsa Cafe, 89 Westgate Road, Newcastle.
Karl Marx is widely known as one of history's greatest thinkers. His writings on history, philosophy, economics and politics continue to be studied in colleges and universities around the world.
Marx was also a dedicated revolutionary who played a key role in the 1848 German revolution and his revolutionary analyses remain essential reading to anyone wanting to realise a world which puts human need before private profit.
In an age of revolutionary upheaval and mass protest, as well as deep inequality and fresh attacks on working class living standards, what can we learn from Marx and the political tradition he founded?
Come along to this public meeting to find out more - there will be plenty of time for discussion and debate.
