The repulsive American right-winger Glenn Beck, who has his own daily radio show and a slot on Fox News, is organising a 'patriotic' rally today. Yes, that's 28 August, the anniversary of Martin Luther King's famous "I have a dream" speech in Washington DC in 1963. The timing could hardly be more tasteless: these are the same people who are constantly baiting the first black President for being too, well, black.
As you can see from this video, Beck is attempting to appropriate King's reputation and stature for his own ends. No doubt Sarah Palin, another 'keynote speaker' at today's outing for Teabaggers and paranoid racists, will attempt to do the same.
